First Edition. Hardcover in very good+ condition, spine ends very slightly bumped, internally in fine condition. Dustjacket in good condition, spine and along edges are slightly tanned, top edge slightly rubbed 111pp, plus 8 pages of 'Selection of Methuen's publications.' With illustrations throughout the book by J.T. Gilroy (famous for the Guinness advertisements). A good-humoured satirical history of England during the Depression to End Depressions (1931-1935). Recalling - the Flight from the Pound, Yo-Yo, Hiking, Belisha Beacons, Loch Ness Monster, Body-Line Bowling etc. - and all the leading political and other personalities.
