It also gives an insight into the non-industrial history and development of the towns and cities through which he passed, and he finally deals with the countryside itself, presenting a description of the green borderland as it was when he walked it in the 1860s. First published in 1869. With a foreword by Vivian Bird for this new edition. (8¾"h x 5¾"w) (22cms x 14.5cms) approx.
